The Peshawar Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education announced the results of the annual matriculation examinations on July 28, 2025. Provincial Education Minister Faisal Khan Tarakai was the chief guest at the ceremony, where he awarded prizes to the top position holders and addressed the attendees.
A total of 91,589 students participated in the matriculation examinations, with 76,484 students passing, resulting in a pass rate of 83.5%. Unfortunately, 14,530 students failed. In the ninth-grade examinations, 101,888 students participated, with 61,753 passing. This resulted in an impressive pass rate of 98.8%, while 38,907 students failed in various subjects.

In the Matric Science Group, Fatima Jagnu from Peshawar Model School Girls Branch 2 achieved the first position with 1180 marks, followed closely by Sara Imran from the same school, who secured the second position with 1178 marks. The third position was shared among three students: Yousra, Shumaila, and Aina Shoaib, also from Peshawar Model School, who all obtained 1176 marks.
During his speech at the ceremony, Education Minister Faisal Khan Tarakai highlighted the effective monitoring of examination halls, ensuring that student positions were awarded purely on merit. He emphasized that the education department is a top priority for the current government, noting that significant reforms are underway in the examination system. He assured that monitoring will be further intensified in future exams to maintain transparency.

The provincial government has increased the education budget to Rs 364 billion to enhance the quality of education. The Education Minister congratulated all successful students, their parents, and teachers, reinforcing that only through hard work and merit can students secure a bright future.
